History
Hans Verhulst started his career in a Toyota dealership where he became a licensed mechanic in 1975. He had worked there for a few years when he and his wife Dianne decided to settle down and start a family. The couple moved to Tsawwassen, where Dianne had grown up, and in 1983, the couple opened Sierra Auto.
Iain Bullis was raised in Tsawwassen and joined Sierra Auto in 2006, when he started working as an apprentice. He completed his training to become a licensed mechanic and is now the second in charge. He is now one of the family, having married the Verhulst’s youngest daughter in August 2014.
Our Team
Hans Verhulst – Lead Mechanic
A car enthusiast that has been in the auto industry for 40 years, Hans has rebuilt a number of old cars, including a 1956 Chevrolet Pick Up on which he performed a complete restoration and a 1957 Ford Fairlane retractable hardtop. He is fully licensed and the team’s Lead Mechanic.
Iain Bullis – Licensed Mechanic
Another car enthusiast, Iain enjoys rebuilding old cars, including a Nova 383 Engine as well as lots of specialized work on pickups. He also enjoys performing lifting and customizing for the extreme “4X4ing”. He is a fully licensed mechanic and Sierra Auto’s second in command.
Dianne Verhulst – Bookkeeper/Administration
Supporting her husband, Dianne has done the bookkeeping as well as some of the administration since Sierra Auto opened its doors in 1983.
